INNOVTE network
What's the INNOVTE network?
INNOVTE, new labellised F-Crin network, aims to develop translational clinical research and European clinical studies on Venous ThromboEmbolism.
Venous ThromboEmbolism, a health issue
Venous ThromboEmbolism (VTE) includes Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Superficial Vein Thrombosis (SVT) and pulmonary embolism. Deep vein thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot within a deep vein predominantly in the legs. Pulmonary Embolism, a potentially life threatening complication, is caused by the detachment of a clot that migrates to the lungs. We estimate about 150 000 new cases of Venous ThromboEmbolism in France.
From GIRC-THROMBOSE to INNOVTE
GIRC THROMBOSE FRANCE [1] was created to develop research in Venous ThromboEmbolism. This network has been funded by INSERM since 2005 and CeNGEPS since 2008. It consists of 12 Clinical Investigation Centres (CIC) including 5 leaders (Brest, Grenoble, Montpellier, Paris HEGP et Saint-Etienne) and 56 Investigation Centers.
For the F-Crin call, 7 biological and imaging teams will join the GIRC THROMBOSE in order to create the new INNOVTE network.
